I was a Dodger fan - and stayed a fan until the Negro League and Dodger great Jim Gilliam died in 1978. I switched to the Mets and was a loyal fan for the 1986 World Series, jumping for joy when Bill Buckner watched a dribbler bounce through his legs. But in the lean years I switched to the Americnan League Cleveland Indians - because Washington Heights's Manny Ramirez was playing for them. I followed Manny to the Red Sox who were making themselves attractive by winning. I am still a Sox fan but I'm happy for Santana and the Mets that Johan Santana has pitched the first no-hitter in franchise history.
