Unfortunately for the Thomaston, Maine town fathers Captain George Waymouth did NOT land there on June 12, 1605. And the cross the local clergy erected there does not recall the one Waymouth planted about fifteen miles south --- at Georges Harbor, formed by AlleBenner, David, and Burnt Islands.
